Give Liberty a Hand is MIRA’s biggest fundraiser of the year and our celebration of champions for immigrants in our Commonwealth – leaders in government, business, and advocacy who “give liberty a hand” by working to advance the rights and integration of immigrants and refugees.

As with last year, we’ll be going virtual, with an online celebration and recognition of our supporters, our communities, and our constituents, who have continued to work for equity and justice throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Our Annual Gala provides crucial core funding for MIRA, enabling us to respond quickly and effectively to our communities’ needs. If you missed out on GLAH’21 watch the program here.

We look forward to sharing this celebration with you.

Presenting this Year’s Honorees!

MIRA’s board of directors and staff have the distinct honor to celebrate the contributions of this year’s honorees by recognizing the impact they are creating for our communities. Beth Huang, Executive Director at MA Voter Table, and Iván Espinoza-Madrigal, Executive Director at Lawyers for Civil Rights, Boston, are this year’s Community Champion recipients for their work championing voter representation, redistricting, and fighting against 287(g) contracts with ICE in MA.  MIRA is also recognizing Speaker of the Massachusetts House of Representatives Ronald J. Mariano with the Change Maker Award for his leadership in advancing the Work and Family Mobility Act to a historic House vote, and his continued allyship to our immigrant and refugee communities.

Please join us on June 2nd to celebrate our three honorees at Give Liberty a Hand 2022!
