Take Action Now – Pass the Protect Act

Eleven people have died in ICE custody so far in 2026.

Last year was the deadliest year for people in ICE detention, with a record number of 31 deaths. Between January to early March, at least 11 people have died in ICE custody, including a Boston resident, Emmanuel Cleeford Damas, who died in Arizona after 6 months of being in ICE custody. These deaths continue to raise concerns about the living conditions, lack of care, and neglect of people in ICE detention and custody.

Please use this tool to email your State Representative and State Senator urging them to support the Protect Act, to limit our state’s participation with ICE, and send a statement that Massachusetts will not let ICE take over our communities, and inflict its violence without being held accountable. ICE has gone too far. Leaders must take action now to protect Massachusetts communities.
