The Courage To Welcome Campaign is a pivotal step towards ensuring that every immigrant and refugee in Massachusetts has access to the services and support they need to thrive. It is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment for every individual, regardless of their background or how they arrived here. We believe that our Commonwealth is stronger because of our rich history of welcoming immigrants who join our workforce, enrich our communities and strengthen our democracy. We believe in a Commonwealth where diversity is celebrated, and everyone has the opportunity to succeed. By coming together, and visibly showing our support, we are sending a powerful message of solidarity and acceptance.
On March 12th 2024, MIRA kicked off the campaign online, with dozens of coalition and community members amplifying the cause. Check out our social media and the hashtag #CourageToWelcome to see some of their stories and advocacy! Now we are moving beyond social media, aiming to ensure that immigrant communities feel supported both online and offline with accurate policy updates, educational resources, and advocacy opportunities.
