MIRA Coalition’s Intro to Immigration is back: 2026 Spring Training Series!
This four-part virtual lunch hour series will present relevant, up-to-date, and accurate information on immigration topics.
You can attend all 4 trainings, or choose individual sessions. This series is open to all individuals who would like to increase their knowledge of immigration-related topics and learn about helpful resources for working with immigrant populations. This is an introductory training – no prior experience or knowledge is necessary!
Join us on the following dates from 12:30-1:30 p.m. EST! Please note registration for each training session closes at 12:00pm on the day of each training.
Thursday, February 12: ABCs of Immigration
Our signature introductory training session provides an overview of common immigration statuses, the privileges and restrictions associated with each, and common pathways to obtain legal immigration status — including through family and humanitarian protections.
Thursday, February 26: Rights, Resources and Benefits for Immigrants
Participants will learn about basic rights of all individuals — regardless of immigration status — and receive a broad overview of immigrant eligibility for health and safety net programs. This training also discusses best practices for interactions with law enforcement and preparation for worst-case scenarios.
Thursday, March 12: Immigration Policy Updates and the Work Ahead
It can be challenging to stay current with the ever-changing landscape of immigration policy. In this session, we’ll discuss some of the many changes that have occurred in recent months both at the federal and state levels, and what MIRA Coalition’s advocacy is focused on for the future.
Thursday, March 26: How You Can Show Up for Immigrants
This training will empower participants to be a resource and support to immigrants. Participants will also learn how to show up for immigrants by learning to effectively communicate with policymakers and legislators and uncover opportunities to take an active role as an immigrant rights advocate with the MIRA Coalition and our member organizations.

You can register for each session for $15 OR register for all 4 topics for $50. The training is free for staff of MIRA member organizations. Reach out to us for more information.
