Thursday, January 12: ABCs of Immigration
Our signature introductory training session provides an overview of common immigration statuses, the privileges and restrictions associated with each, and common pathways to obtain legal immigration status — including through family and humanitarian protections.

Thursday, January 19: Rights and Benefits for Immigrants
Participants will learn about basic rights of all individuals — regardless of immigration status — and receive a broad overview of immigrant eligibility for health and safety net programs. This training also discusses best practices for interactions with law enforcement and preparation for worst-case scenarios.

Thursday, January 26: Immigration and Families
In this training we will discuss common challenges and barriers to effectively providing services to immigrant families and best practices for building strong, trusting relationships with immigrant clients.

Thursday, February 2: Immigration Policy Updates and the Work Ahead
It can be challenging to stay current with the ever-changing landscape of immigration policy. In this session, we’ll discuss some of the changes that have occurred over the past year and what MIRA Coalition’s advocacy is focused on for the future.

Presenters:
Jessica Chicco, Director of New Americans Initiatives, MIRA Coalition
Catherine Ramirez Mejia, Access and Resource Specialist, MIRA Coalition
