MIRA Weekly Bulletin
Larger than any one individual, community or organization, thousands of immigrants took to the streets on Monday, March 27th. The opposition is scared. Our challenge is to sustain and build upon this momentum. Next week, Tuesday April 4th, please join us at our 10th Annual Immigrants Day at the State House where we will hear from many of our gubernatorial candidates. Then, on April 10th, when U.S. Senators return home after debating and voting on immigration reform, we will join hundreds of thousands of immigrants in cities across the country and return to the streets of Boston. While elderly and disabled legal immigrants will continue to have coverage, 7000 working adults are left in a precarious state. It is crucial that the conferees and leadership hear from the immigrant community and the public about why legal immigrants should be restored to MassHealth. PLEASE CALL THE HEALTH CARE CONFEREES TODAY! Download Campaign Alert Here! |

A MassINC report and a recent Office of New Bostonians Report concur that increased ESOL services are crucial for Boston and the State.
