Democracy School 2014:

Youth Edition!

What is Democracy School: Youth Edition?

Democracy School: Youth Edition is a fun and interactive workshop to learn about progressing the immigrant rights movement and winning social justice campaigns. It is directed at any and all students interested in advancing the struggle for social, economic, and racial justice. It consists of lectures, games, and role-plays that will expose participants to successful grassroots organizing tactics.

2. Why should I participate?

If you are a student interested in becoming a leader in social justice in your community, you should participate. Not only will you gain exposure to the struggle for justice, but you will also earn hours of community service and a fancy certificate to top it all off (if you attend the full day)! The training will include lessons in how to harness the power of storytelling, develop leadership skills, and engage voters to demand that their voices be heard.

3. Who is eligible to participate?

Democracy School: Youth Edition is open to all high school students in Massachusetts. If you are not currently a high school student, please contact us; we can make certain accomodations for you.

4. What does it cost to participate?

Nothing—the training is FREE!
